During the mid nineties the music scene of the Stockholm youth clubs was on fire. Different bands and genres would face off
on the same stage at any given night. The fight for the crowds affection was grueling and edged the bands on towards something
out of the ordinary. It was in this setting the members of Hoffmaestrofirst met.
With time they grew eleven men strong and all their different musical influences flourished into a unique sound. A sound that they've
now labeled skank-a-tronicpunkadelica. A dynamic genre that allows them to move freely between anything from ska and reggae
to techno, New Orleans funk or country as opposed accepting the limitations of a conventional genre label. This approach originates
from an aversion to creative limitations and also from the need to go along with what feels right in the moment no matter the public opinion.
The breakthrough came with the instant cult classic movie "Stockholm Boogie" in 2005. Written, directed and last but notleast scored
by the band the movie premiered one of the earliest Hoffmaestro hit songs "Desperado" as it's main theme. During the following years
the band released two EP:sand a full length album "the Storm".They were nominated for a swedish grammy for the video to the single
"Young dad" and they exploded ontothe Stockholm live scene.
Word about their mindboggling shows quickly spread beyond the nations capital and songs like "Highwayman" (which by now has
sold dubble platinum), "So do you (slimi jimmy bubby boy)" and "Seizethe day" became big internet hits. ""Word spread around that..."""
The band showed early on that no one can get a crowd going like Hoffmaestro. The tremendous energy conveyed by a seemingly
organized chaos on stage makes it impossible for the audience to not getinvolved.
Through persistent touring Hoffmaestro has solidifiedtheir position as one of the greatest live bands in Sweden and their shows aresold
out where ever they go. At Swedens Peace & Love festival in 2009 14 000people stormed the field with an estimated 6000 people
capacity and in 2010 over 34 000 people saw them open the Fantasia stage.
Hoffmaestro's latest tour the"skank-a-tronicpunkadelica tour" opened at a sold out Ericsson Globe arena Annex andduring the summer
of 2010 they were the heaviest booked band in Sweden settingaudience records and selling out shows where ever they went including
tying BobMarley's ancient record at Stockholms distinguished amusement park Gröna Lund.
The new full length album "skank-a-tronicpunkadelica" was released on the bands own label "Chraamofon" onoctober 6th 2010 and the
previous album "the storm" was the thirdmost played album on Swedens biggest music streaming site Spotify - second onlyto Lady Gaga
and Eminem during all of 2010.
This yearstour includes a number of major festivals abroad. Several major festivals in Germany, Norway, Denmark and Finland are lined
up including Roskilde in Denmarkwhere they're filling the prestigious last time slot ending the entirefestival.
